COMPUTING LEAD

I am Mrs Moloney and I proudly lead Computing at Heron Cross Primary School, overseeing digital skills and computational thinking across the whole curriculum. I am passionate about giving children the essential knowledge and confidence they need to become creative, responsible and enthusiastic digital citizens.

My love for computing began when I first wrote a simple programme on a school computer; the ability to turn ideas into interactive experiences sparked my imagination and showed me how powerful technology can be for learning and communication. Those early experiences still drive my work today, and I aim to share that same sense of wonder and possibility with every pupil.

At Heron Cross, I believe Computing sits at the heart of modern education. In line with the National Curriculum, my aim is for every child to understand core concepts such as algorithms, data representation and programming, to use technology safely and responsibly, and to develop problem‑solving skills that transfer across subjects. I work closely with teachers to ensure our Computing programme is engaging, ambitious and inclusive, enabling all pupils to succeed.

From nurturing early coding through Purple Mash programs and robotics to supporting older pupils as they explore more complex programming, digital creativity and computational thinking, I am committed to helping children build strong foundations for lifelong learning. Through inspiring lessons, high‑quality resources and a culture that celebrates curiosity and innovation, I strive to make Computing a subject where every child can shine.
