Miss Frost
MUSIC LEAD
I am Miss Frost and I am proud to lead Music at Heron Cross Primary School. My love of music began in childhood through choir performances and stage productions that built my confidence and creativity. This passion has continued throughout my teaching career, where I have supported choirs, led singing across the school and taken part in Young Voices — experiences that remind me how music brings people together and gives every child the chance to shine.
Music has always been a source of joy and expression for me, and I am committed to ensuring our pupils experience that same excitement. Music strengthens memory, communication and emotional wellbeing while developing teamwork, coordination and resilience. Whether children are singing, exploring instruments or creating their own ideas, they build essential skills that support all areas of learning.
My vision for Music is guided by the National Curriculum from EYFS to KS2. In the Early Years, children explore sound through singing, movement and instruments. In Key Stage 1, they begin to use their voices expressively, play tuned and untuned instruments and respond to a wide range of music. By Key Stage 2, pupils perform with control, improvise, compose and deepen their understanding of notation and musical traditions. I aim to deliver an ambitious, inclusive and uplifting music curriculum that enables every child to make music confidently and joyfully.
